still sick

On Sunday, Eric really seemed like he was getting better. He was eating much better and keeping the food down. Then today, he's back to throwing up. I hate seeing him sick like this. I'm taking him back to the doctor but this time, I'm going to another doctor. I found a really nice one who is a family doctor, not just a pediatrician. I went to him when I had a cold a while back. David and I have not been impressed with the pediatrician that I took Eric to last Friday. He treated us rudely on the phone when we called him again (after he seemed to be getting worse) and that is something that I don't want to have to deal with when my baby is sick. I'm so glad that I found one who is close by and who accepts our insurance. That is a blessing.

In other news..... David and I are planning a birthday party for Eric. I think we've decided on a dinosaur theme. I've never thrown a party before so this should be fun. I'm excited about doing this for Eric. Even though I know he won't understand what all the fuss is about. It'll still be fun to shower him with gifts and celebrate his first year.

Eric's sick

Eric's sick. Last night he threw up a lot. We put him down for the night and about 2 hours later he woke up crying. David and I read a story to him and tried to soothe him. We took him to the couch and told him he needed to go back to sleep. But then he "projectile vomited" all over the place.
But shortly after that, he fell back asleep. So this morning, I tried to feed him again his normal morning breakfast and he rejected that too. I took his temperature and it was normal.
He just didn't want anything. I tried to give him some apple juice and that actually stayed down. But when I tried to give him a little bit of oatmeal, he vomited that up. So I called the doctor and took him in. (I'm glad he had an opening today). The doctor said he has a stomach virus and he gave me instructions to give him pediatlyte and no formula for about 24hrs, and limit the solid food. It's so hard to see Eric like this. The funny thing is that overall he seems to be fine. He is still smiling and playing and pretty much acting like himself. He just can't keep anything down.
It's hard to know where he got this bug from. It could be from anything, especially when he is constantly putting things in his mouth. I try to wash everything frequently but sometimes it's impossible.
In the mean time I'll be praying that he gets better. I don't like having a sick baby.

park day

Today I went to the park with a few other moms from the Church that we've been going to. There is a big playground and a wadding pool for kids to play in. It's right by the river with lots of trees.
I wish I would've brought my camera. It was a beautiful day. It was nice to be outside.

I got to see what moms do when they have more than one kid. Sometimes I wonder how they do it. It seems so challenging to feed one and try to keep on eye on the other 2 who are playing on the playground. There were a lot of other kids there at the park too so it would be more difficult to watch them and keep track of them. I started to wonder if I would be ready for this when the time comes. I have heard more and more often from various moms that I'll get used to it and no, it doesn't get easier. We only get more strength from God to handle it.

It was so nice to be with these other moms. I got to see 2 other little babies. Both of them were about 1 week apart and about 7 weeks old. I had almost forgotten how small Eric once was. Now in just 2 months, he'll be 1 year!

5 years!

Happily ever after!
Today is our 5 year anniversary. I remember the day when David's brother introduced us to each other at a conference in Southern Cal during Christmas time. :-)
David is a great husband, friend and father. I'm happy to be his wife and I'm happy that the Lord put us together. He sure knows what he's doing.

the other blog

As of now, the other blog (Wordpress) doesn't seem to be working as well as I had hoped. It isn't very user friendly and I don't have the time to try and figure out how it works. It doesn't upload pictures easiely, it says it does, but it doesn't. :-( So for now, I'll just try this again and try to use picasa web album so hopefully you all can see more pictures.

Well, the past few days I've been sitting on the couch. I hurt my ankle some time last week and since Saturday, it's been bothering me. I've decided to have it looked on Monday and the doctor said I should have an x-ray done. I haven't gotten the results yet. He also said that I can't run for a while. He thinks I over did it. It hurts but as long as I don't walk on it too much and keep taking some ibuprofen and ice it often, it's not so bad.
So lately, I've been enjoying listening to Eric talk to me all day long, along with watching some tv.
It's a bummer though, because I want to get outside for some fresh air. I start to go crazy after being in the apartment for too long.
I'm sure that my ankle will heal soon and I'll be able to take Eric for a walk. He really seems to enjoy the outdoors now.
