chunky food

Eric is gagging on textured, chunky foods. He is fine on the pureed foods( in fact, he loves those) but any of the size 3 foods (especially the Gerber brand) he gags and vomits. I've also tried some spaghetti noodles (table food) and he just plays with it.
I've been trying these textured foods for the past 4 months or so. Sometimes Eric starts to eat a bite and it goes down and then he acts like he wants more and so I give him a little bit more and just when I think that it's getting better and he's getting the hang of it, he throws it up.
I've told the pediatrician about this and he says that Eric isn't ready if he is gagging. I'd like to try feeding Eric in his office to show him what happens and then see what the doctor says. I plan to talk to him again at Eric's 15 month checkup next month.

I'm not sure why I feel so frustrated. I guess I feel like I'm the only one who has a toddler who has trouble eating.
Has anybody had this trouble with their kids? Or does anybody have some ideas?

Want a parrot?

Eric thought you might like to have a parrot.

I have been going crazy lately. He is cruising the furniture and very, very curious and must find out how things work or what things are, especially if they are in drawers or on top of the kitchen table and within his reach.

I know I mentioned that we have our apartment baby proofed... well, not completely. Instead we have the bedroom doors and the bathroom closed. I know that's only temporary because soon he'll be tall enough to open the doors on his own.

It's getting really difficult to find time to do things. (Aka: take a shower, think..... etc.) He's getting bored with his toys.
However, I have found that "Baby Einstein" works for about 10 minutes.

weather and stuff

The weather has been crazy lately. Last Saturday morning it was snowing and it was below freezing. Then Sunday it warmed up to around 50 and it was extremely windy. I don't think my immune system liked it too much because I've been feeling really run down and I've had a bit of a sore throat. Today I have been feeling a little better so that is good.
Eric is doing well and is cruising/crawling all over the place. I think the apartment is pretty much baby proof now. I've taken away the play yard for now and have put part of it up around the Christmas tree. I put up the tree a few nights ago after Eric went to bed.
I'm glad I thought of using the play yard because it sure has helped Eric not to pull off the ornaments.

Eric has 2 more teeth poking through. That makes a total of 9 so far.
Another thing that Eric has been doing is copying what we do. I've noticed it a couple of weeks ago. I started clapping my hands as I was facing him and he started clapping his hands. Also, I put my hands up like I was reaching to the sky and he did the same thing. Oh, and one other thing that he has been doing is biting our noses. (I'll try to get that on camera some day) I can't figure out if it's because he's really hungry or teething. That silly boy!
