The wonderful lifesaver blanket

Announcing the swaddler! The amazing blanket that helps babies sleep at night. It's awesome and I'm so glad to have it. Almost as soon as we put Eric in it, he settles down and in minutes he falls asleep.
Last night Eric slept 8 1/2 hours. After having a hard time getting him to settle down last night around 2 am, he finally settled down after I put the crib soother. I'm so glad that these 2 things were invented. I woke up after feeling well rested around 11am and I looked over at his crib and he was just starting to stir and wake up. I came over to him and he looked up at me and smiled. :-D
I'm still trying to capture his smile on camera, but I'm not fast enough or I don't have the camera ready in time.

Next Thursday the 3 of us are leaving for the trip of all trips. It's going to be quite an adventure flying in the cold weather to a wedding with a 2 1/2 month old.
I'll be sure to post something about how the trip turned out. I'll also be bringing my camera. :-)

I'll be packing diapers, bottles and really cold weather clothes and the kitchen sink. ;)

2 month checkup

Eric turned 2 months old last Monday. He is continuing to gain weight. He now weighs 10 lbs 12 oz. The pediatrician says he's doing really well and that I'm doing a great job at being a mom. :-)
He had 4 shots (2 in each leg) and he did not like it one bit. It took the rest of the day for me to calm him down. The nurse recommended that I give him infant tylenol and give it to him as soon as I got home. I did that but Eric still kept frowning and whimering for the rest of the day and was even more fussy in the evening.

He's starting to make little shierks and baby noises along with unbelievably cute smiles. He makes David and I smile.

He's not sleeping through the night yet. Sometimes he sleeps for 5 hours at a time but the problem is that he sleeps from about 5am to 10am. Hopefully soon he'll start sleeping longer and get into a better sleeping schedule. In the meantime, David and I are trying to grab what sleep we can. Even if it's a half an hour nap here and there. Every little bit helps.
